Position Information Position Title: Graduate Assistant, Nelson-Denny Reading Project, University Testing Services Academic Year: 2024-2025 UIW Mission: University of the Incarnate Word is a Catholic institution that welcomes to its community persons of diverse backgrounds, in the belief that their respectful interaction advances the discovery of truth, mutual understanding, self-realization, and the common good.Position Summary: The Graduate Assistant provides support to the Coordinator of Testing in the daily administration of the NDRT. The Graduate Assistant monitors the integrity of the testing process and assists the Coordinator in creating reports. In collaboration with the University’s Quality Enhancement Program, Testing Services is assisting with a campus-wide project utilizing the Nelson-Denny Reading Test (NDRT), a standardized assessment designed to measure reading comprehension and vocabulary skills in college students, primarily focusing on two sections: vocabulary andreading comprehension.Essential Functions: Assist with student check-in duties. Facilitate administration of faculty make-up exams. Set up workstations before exams begin. Proctor examinations and report any irregularities. Enter data into testing spreadsheets, as requested by Coordinator. Assist with the creation of weekly reports.Ensure security exams by following established procedures. Maintain confidentiality of student testing records. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Proficiency in standard computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.).Required Education: Current UIW graduate student Required Work Experience: None. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with customer service preferred.
