Whanau Support Worker - Blenheim (Part Time) At NZCL, we are dedicated to supporting disabled people in New Zealand. We are looking for energetic and motivated people to join our team of Whanau (family) support workers in the Nelson area to support tamariki (school-aged children) and taitamariki (youth and teenagers) with their needs, helping them enjoy activities and build confidence in their homes and communities. This could include going to cafes, the movies, supporting them to look for work, or to join a sports team.Although prior experience working with children/youth would be advantageous, this is not essential as full training is provided for these roles. What does a Whanau Support Worker do? In this role, you would support young people in their home and community to lead fulfilling and meaningful lives. You would assist them in achieving their personal dreams and goals by supporting them to do the things they want to do, such as going swimming, attending sporting events, arts and crafts, movies, or shopping - the list is endless!What's in it for you? Availability to work after school hours (3pm to 10pm). Experience working with young people would be advantageous. Ability to connect and build a positive relationship with people through the provision of consistent support.
