Position Details Psychiatry Registrar (Non Training), Nelson Hospital, Permanent Full-timeResponsibilities include: Being part of a multidisciplinary team providing psychiatric services to the Nelson and Marlborough communities. Assisting with psychiatric consultations and referrals, and providing outpatient/inpatient assessments and treatments. About the Role Available from January 2026, this non-training Psychiatry Registrar position may consider future training positions at Nelson Hospital on a 1 in 5 to 6 roster basis. The role is full-time (1.0 FTE), with hours from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday, including on-call duties during weekdays and weekends.Team/Service/Location The Mental Health and Addiction services in Nelson Marlborough include various teams such as adult general psychiatry, addictions, child and youth, and older persons. The region has two inpatient units and multiple community outpatient teams. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Possession of an MB ChB or equivalent qualification with at least one year of house surgeon experience.
