About the Role We are seeking Registrars for our Emergency Department, which provides a 24/7 service with approximately 34,000 patient visits annually. The department is supported by medical and surgical specialties. Taranaki staff one of the highest numbers of FACEMs outside Auckland.Taranaki Base Hospital is accredited by the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine for 24 months of EM Registrar training. We offer: Excellent pass rates for ACEM exams POCUS training A team of highly motivated FACEM-qualified teachers Involvement in care of critically unwell patients Clinical responsibilities include:Patient assessment based on triage status and review as needed Ordering investigations relevant to primary problems Performing procedures as directed by the SMO, e.g., reductions, suturing, IV insertion, intubation Maintaining accurate medical records, including ACC documentation Protected training includes weekly tutorials, grand rounds, and CME sessions. ACEM trainees have additional protected teaching hours.
