Description
Permanent, full-time 1FTE (80 hours per fortnight). Rotational position where you move every 6-9 months across inpatients, community and ART/ARTHA. Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders.About the Role The Occupational Therapist rotational programme consists of rotations that are 6– 9 months long and includes the following areas: Inpatients: This will provide you with experience in three main areas on the acute wards, including medical, orthopaedics, surgical, ICU and rehabilitation.Community Rotation: You will work with the Community Team (North or South) with clients within their own homes, problem-solving any challenges they face and upskilling your community rehabilitation, equipment and housing modifications knowledge. ART/ARTHA: You will be a part of an interdisciplinary Allied Health team that includes physiotherapists and social workers. This work consists of treatment and interventions in the emergency department, Acute Assessment Unit (AAU), with St John's and in the community.About the Team/Service/Location Te Whatu Ora Taranaki employs approximately 350 allied health professionals across its services, and we’re growing our inpatient physical health rehabilitation team by 60%. You will be joining a friendly team that is diverse in skills and experience, a team that welcomes collaboration, and that values the contribution of each team member. Our team provides rehabilitation care across acute and non-acute inpatient wards as part of Allied Health, and we’re happy to support other teams to ensure their success.About You You will need to have: Current New Zealand Annual Practising Certificate registration. Current New Zealand driver’s license. A commitment to translating evidence into practice. A commitment to biculturalism. A commitment to achieving equitable outcomes for Maori. An understanding of healthcare in New Zealand.Experience working in the above clinical areas. Knowledge of standardised assessment and outcome measures. Knowledge of ACC and MOH health funding streams. Prioritise using time management and delegation skills. Demonstrate ability to facilitate teamwork.
