Netball Taranaki is a leading sports organization dedicated to promoting and developing netball in the Taranaki region. We are committed to fostering a positive and inclusive environment for players, officials, supporters, and stakeholders. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead our organization. The General Manager will be responsible for overseeing the overall operations of Netball Taranaki, including finances, staff management, sponsorship, operations, marketing, and reporting to the Board of Trustees.Key Responsibilities: Leadership: Provide proactive leadership, advice, and direction to Board Members and staff. Ensure the ongoing success and engagement of netball in Taranaki. Strategy and Implementation: Develop and implement strategies in alignment with the Strategic Plan. Achieve and develop KPIs with the Board.Organizational Capability: Nurture a strong team and maintain an effective organization to deliver on Netball Taranaki's vision and strategy. Planning, Budgeting, and Reporting: Monitor, evaluate, and report on the progress and status of services provided by Netball Taranaki. Prepare and achieve the annual business plan and budget.Financial Management: Manage financial resources effectively to ensure prudence and achieve the annual budget. Implement and manage all business and supplier contracts. Property and Equipment Management: Manage all property and equipment owned or leased by Netball Taranaki. Ensure assets are well-maintained and fit for purpose.Marketing and Communication: Develop and implement marketing plans and strategies. Communicate key messages to stakeholders and create a strong community of players, officials, supporters, and funders/sponsors. Relationship Management: Develop and maintain excellent relationships with key stakeholders, local authorities, and other regional sports trusts.Sponsorship and Funding: Attract and utilize funding to achieve the goals of Netball Taranaki. Develop and review sponsorship/funding plans. Qualifications and Experience: Essential: Business/organizational planning and reporting experience, understanding or experience of the sport sector and member-based organizations, experience in applying for funding and sponsorship, experience in managing and growing people.Preferred: Financial acumen, experience with managing events/programs and facilities, relevant tertiary qualification, experience working with Boards and understanding of governance.
