Session facilitator, New Plymouth

Playcentre Aotearoa is a well-known and loved Early Childhood organisation with over 80 years of supporting parents to take the lead in their children’s learning through play. Playcentre operates over 400 Playcentres throughout the country. Stratford Playcentre is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic session facilitator to join our vibrant community.You will work alongside our members and tamariki to guide session activities, facilitate learning through child-led play and positive guidance, support planning and assessment for learning, and promote the Playcentre education programme. We seek a leader who encourages others to thrive, models Playcentre philosophy and good practice, and supports whānau to gain confidence in their abilities.Days&hours: Tuesday&Thursday, 9.15am–12.45pm. This is a permanent position during term time only. Applications will be reviewed upon receipt. The ideal candidate will: Hold a Playcentre Course 3 qualification or higher or an Early Childhood qualification at Level 4 or higher. Desirable skills and experience include: Knowledge and understanding of Te Whāriki and a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi. A passion for Playcentre and its philosophy. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with tamariki and adults.A passion for empowering and engaging whānau to foster a sense of belonging during sessions. Knowledge of ECE regulations.
