Huntly is critical to the country's energy security and will play an interesting role in the future as we move to a low carbon future.About The Role We are currently seeking an Operator Maintainer to join our high-performing, close-knit team. We're looking for an experienced Industrial Control and Instrumentation Technician to support our Rankine and Gas Turbine teams in Huntly. We offer training, ongoing development, a supportive team environment, and real potential for career growth.As an Operator Maintainer your key focus will be on ensuring the operation and maintenance of the generation and auxiliary plant, while ensuring resource consent, health and safety policies and regulation requirements are met. The role involves shift work for up to six months a year and requires 1-2 years of operational training. Other responsibilities include:Report on plant conditions, address defects, and manage audit/operation documentation. Support the asset management plan by performing maintenance tasks, site checks, and work package management. Use the Computerised Maintenance Management System to log failures, track time, and record equipment/material purchases.Keep maintenance documentation up to date, including procedures, work orders, job plans, and technical specs. Monitor, report, and address plant conditions and defects. About You We seek a clear, confident communicator with strong mentoring and influencing skills. You'll collaborate with diverse team members to meet targets and solve complex problems by breaking them down and identifying root causes. Other key skills include:3-5 years' experience in maintenance within heavy mechanical or engineering environments Electrical Trade Certificate or equivalent qualifications/experience with Electrical Registration Control and Instrumentation trade qualification Full, clean driver's license Flexibility, this role includes both day and shift workHazardous area experience and/or endorsements would be beneficial.
