Role overview: In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, securing, and managing key accounts, driving sales growth, and building long-term relationships with clients. Your understanding of client needs and passion for food will be essential in delivering tailored solutions that exceed expectations.Role responsibilities&key accountabilities: Win new commercial business with customers whose food spend ranges from£300,000 to £2m annually, through active prospecting and managing a pipeline of opportunities. Build cross-functional relationships with prospects to position Brakes as their next supply partner, encouraging them to approach you for supplier reviews.Achieve and surpass sales and margin targets aligned with the National Account New Business budget. Collaborate with cross-functional team members to deliver high-quality tender submissions within established guidelines. Lead the launch of new business wins in partnership with the implementation team.Identify joint opportunities for securing new customers within the wider UK group. Contribute proactively to the National Account team by supporting business development goals, objectives, and strategic initiatives. Candidate profile: You should embody a Customer First mindset, with an innovative and agile approach. Enjoy collaboration, be results-driven, resilient—learning from mistakes and building future solutions. Embrace inclusivity and act with integrity and honesty.Required skills and competencies: Experience in a similar role is advantageous. Excellent customer relationship and rapport-building skills. Strong communication skills, both internally and externally. Structured solution selling and negotiation skills. Good commercial acumen and understanding of profit drivers.High energy, capable of performing in a fast-paced, pressured environment to meet tight deadlines.
