About the role The Strategic Relationships Manager is a new and innovative role at Selwyn District Council, focusing on managing key stakeholders' development journeys through Council. You will enable our strategic partners to unlock their economic and social potential to improve amenity, employment, and economic outcomes for Selwyn. Reporting to the Executive Director Development and Growth, you will be the key contact into the Council for our partners, focusing on maintaining and improving relationships. Your role will include smoothing the way for complex applications and ensuring an aligned approach across Council.Key responsibilities Build, manage, and improve key relationships. Identify opportunities for collaboration and development. Serve as the point of contact to effectively resolve issues. Oversee customer involvement in building and resource consent processes, and potentially other Council services.Provide feedback and implement business improvements to enhance service delivery. About you You should demonstrate the ability to lead organizational and cultural change initiatives in a complex environment. Confidence in communication and influencing at all levels, both internally and externally, is essential. Experience in relationship management is pivotal.Additional qualities include: Ability to quickly build rapport with people. Good understanding of Resource Consent and Building Consent processes. Solution-oriented approach in technically difficult situations. Ability to manage numerous relationships and interactions with Council.Capability to foster collaboration within the council for aligned approaches.
