Kōtahi anō te kaupapa, ko te oranga o te iwi | There is only one purpose to our work: the wellness and wellbeing of people.Ngā kawenga | About the role The Bail Support Service was established to ensure courts are provided with the best information about safe and timely bail proposals. If granted, Bail Support Service offers support to help defendants succeed on bail. Bail Support Officers adopt a holistic, defendant and whānau-centric approach, working alongside defendants, whānau, defence counsel, and community and government social service providers to prepare bail proposals and develop bail support plans.We're seeking passionate individuals who want to make a real difference for defendants and their whānau, and are comfortable working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. You should be motivated, eager to learn, adaptable, and a team player. If you believe you have the necessary qualities, but your experience isn't a perfect match, we still encourage you to apply.To succeed, you should: Be a team player with excellent communication skills, initiative, and drive. Be non-judgemental, see potential in people, and help them leverage their strengths for positive life choices. Work across diverse social, cultural, and ethnic communities to effect positive change.Pay close attention to detail, gather comprehensive information, and make sound professional decisions. Be a motivated problem solver with excellent time management and organizational skills. Be capable of writing well-structured, articulate reports. Possess excellent computer skills and adapt quickly to new systems and processes.Applicants must hold a current Full New Zealand Drivers Licence . The starting salary is $64,359, with appointment and remuneration reflecting skills and experience.
