Team/Service Overview The team provides comprehensive General Medicine and Rehabilitation care, including:Acute stroke and heart attack management Management of acute infections High acuity care such as DKA infusions and non-invasive ventilation Palliative care, including a Palliative Medicine Specialist Rehabilitation services Bedside procedures like LP, pleural procedures, paracentesis, and POCUS accessWork involves collaboration with consultant-led ward teams, with weekly teaching and educational activities accredited by RACP and RNZCGP-DRHM. Location Thames Hospital is a modern 50-bed facility offering emergency, inpatient, day surgery, infusion, rehabilitation, birthing, and mental health services, with 24-hour labs and advanced imaging. It supports medical students and trainees, providing CME and teaching programs.
