Marketing, Advertising & PR Jobs in Job Market Wanaka

If you are looking for a job in marketing or are just curious about the career options in this field, the Wanaka Marketing, Advertising & PR category is a great place to look. Here you will find a wide range of job openings for marketing managers, marketing specialists and coordinators, to name a few. In these roles, you would typically work within a business or with an agency handling multiple clients to work out their overall marketing strategy, including both online and offline efforts. However, there are many different types of roles and specialisations within this field and it’s good to familiarize yourself with them so you know if a career in marketing is right for you.

Types of roles within Marketing:

Advertising & Marketing: In advertising, you focus on creating promotional messages to attract customers, spread awareness about your brand and its products or services, and ultimately drive sales. For traditional channels, this can mean coming up with catchy jingles for radio adverts, memorable TV commercials, and standout billboards on highways. This can also overlap with online marketing when it comes to digital advertising on websites and apps.

Internet and online marketing: A digital marketing manager would be responsible for a business’s online presence. This includes planning, executing, and maintaining marketing strategies through their website, emails, social media channels, and online advertising campaigns. They could also be conducting research into market trends and insights in their field and creating presentations and spreadsheets on their efforts and performance. You can also search for more specialized positions within online marketing, such as seo specialists, content writers, social media specialists, and more.

Branding & event management: If you are interested in running events, you may prefer the duties of an event manager or event coordinator. In this role, you would be responsible for planning and promoting events, managing budgets, and liaising with internal and external personnel. Or perhaps the role of a brand manager would be more appealing to you, where the focus is on creating and maintaining a brand that resonates with the target audience.

Market research: For the more analytical-minded, you may prefer a job as a data analyst or market researcher. Through qualitative and quantitative research, marketing analysts can draw conclusions and make recommendations for improvements to brands based on data. Researchers help companies understand their customers and competitors to better position themselves in the market.

PR and communications: In PR and communications, the responsibilities lie around shaping public opinion about a company and communicating effectively and appropriately with potential customers. A public relations manager liaises with the press on behalf of promoting a business. This can be anything from grand openings and events, to press conferences and corresponding with journalists. While communications consultants and directors oversee all communication both externally and internally.
