Mo te tunga | About the role The role of a Support Worker involves providing assistance to individuals in developing their independence and acquiring skills for daily living. This includes tasks like helping them with public transportation, employment, finances, and meal preparation. Support Workers may also assist with shopping, cleaning, showering, and medication administration, depending on the work environment.No prior experience in the health and disability sector is necessary, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are highly valued. Full training and orientation will be provided. Availability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and sleepovers. Proficiency in using computers and tablets daily.Strong written and verbal communication skills. Physical fitness to provide necessary support. Possession of a Full NZ driver's license or willingness to obtain one.
