We are the Government’s principal adviser on transport policy, regulation and investment and play acrucial role in ensuring the transport system is working to improve the prosperity for New Zealanders.About the opportunity | Ngā whakamārama mō te tūnga The Ministerial and Executive Services team is responsible for the Ministry’s corporate accountability, plan and reporting and official correspondence functions. Recently, a new operating model was established to deliver functions more efficiently and better supportthe Ministry to meet its statutory obligations and performance targets.As one of the Advisers– OIA in the team, you’ll work closely with the Senior Adviser – OIA to prepare OIA requests, information request and releases, and official correspondence. You’ll also play and important part in monitoring performance, highlighting concerns and supporting resolutions as well as providing back up support to the team.This a great opportunity to be part of a friendly, collaborative team, working across the wider Ministerial and Executive team, the Ministry, and Crown entities, gaining exposure across the whole transport sector. You will also have the chance to utilise your skills and experience to help implement a new way of working.What you’ll bring | Te wāhi ki a koe A tertiary qualification or relevant experience Understanding of machinery of government processes Experience in responding to OIA requests, information requests and releases, and official correspondence Experience providing advice to Senior Leaders and Ministersincluding the development of briefings and internal memorandumsExperience in building and maintaining effective working relationships and excellent stakeholder management skills Proficient writing skills, experience and demonstrated capability in successfully communicating effectively to diverse audiences Proficient experience operating in a fast paced and changeable work environment, demonstrating your agility to respondExcellent time management, including an ability to handle high flows of information and work under pressure Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and products. The appointing base salary budget for this position, based on experience is up to $87,406 per annum + KiwiSaver.
