Fulltime, fixed-term position until 30 June 2026 Position can be based at either our Manakau office in Tāmaki Makaurau/Aucklandor our National office, Whanganui a Tara/Wellington We're offering a competitive salary starting from $106,416 to $117,782, depending on experience We encourage applications from whaikaha persons and encourage you to talk with us about any support you may need in the application process.Mō te tūnga | About the role We are at the start of implementing the Oranga Tamariki Disability Strategy within our organisation and are looking for someone to lead and facilitate the development and delivery of a cut-through, insightful introductory disability learning resource that will resonate with and inform our kaimahi about disability related matters.You will have experience in gathering, collating and packaging content from various sources and channels that will help inform the learning resource, and have knowledge, understanding and ability to work with and respond to the diverse needs, experiences and views within disability communities. Experience in developing workforce learning resources and a solution focussed attitude is a must. You will have the ability to problem solve, work across the organisation and not be afraid to reset plans and change direction to achieve results.To be effective in this role, strong internal and external stakeholder relationship skills are critical. You will ensure our disability learning resources are aligned with the Disability Strategy and our practice approach and can be delivered through our learning and development channels. As a member of the Disability team, you will help ensure that disability information, resources and learning approaches reflect a social- and rights-based model of disability and are contributing to positive change within the Ministry.Preferred location for this role is either at our Manakau office, Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland or our National office Whanganui-a-Tara/Wellington. Due to the operational requirements and dynamic nature of the role, it will be beneficial for you to have the close support of the team around you. Key requirements of the role include:Knowledge of different perspectives of disability including but not limited to medical, social, cultural/indigenous methodologies Ability to establish and maintain relationships internally and externally with subject matter experts in the disability field Demonstrated experience and expertise in scoping, designing, testing and implementing learning resources in a public service environmentKnowledge of capability frameworks Experience in converting information/knowledge into easily understood learning content (instructional design) Ability to recommend and establish evaluation approaches for measuring /monitoring disability competency Demonstrated understanding of Ako Māori Experience of working with different stakeholder groups, especially disability communities, to reflect community adviceStrong written and verbal communication skills Understanding and appreciation of cross-cultural practices, with particular knowledge of tikanga Māori, and Pacific peoples' cultures.
