SummaryThis position serves as the Plant Metallurgist responsible for the metallography lab, welding, brazing, compliance with customer specifications, and all metallurgical activities. The role involves significant involvement in heat treatment processes. Environmental Health&Safety Responsibilities Implement and adhere to Howmet's EHS policies and regulations. Wear all required PPE. Report injuries, illnesses, and safety concerns promptly. Attend EHS training sessions. Job Responsibilities Essential Job Functions Ensure lab processes comply with corporate and customer specifications.Lead cost reduction, product improvement, and process problem-solving initiatives. Manage metallurgical processes such as brazing, welding, lab analysis, and heat treatment. Oversee lab calibration, certification, and root cause analysis of deviations. Report process status, conduct audits, and communicate issues.Support audits (internal, customer, NADCAP) and maintain compliance. Understand downstream product quality and react appropriately. Write and approve instructions for metallurgical processes. Oversee training and certification of lab operators. Coordinate with facilities and suppliers for equipment maintenance.Foster continuous improvement and provide technical guidance.
