These include regulators like the Commerce Commission, delivery agents such as New Zealand Trade and Enterprise, and Crown Research Institutes like Geological Nuclear Sciences.The Board Appointments and Governance Team manages board appointment processes and supports effective governance. We seek individuals eager to make a difference in governance and improve economic outcomes for all. As a Senior Advisor reporting to the Manager, Board Appointments and Governance, you will advise Ministers on appointments and governance for Crown companies, entities, and statutory boards. This role supports these organisations at the governance level.You will be responsible for: Leading board appointments and providing expert advice to Ministers Leading and contributing to initiatives for best practice governance support Engaging with stakeholders and building effective relationships This role offers insights into the strategies and challenges of various organisations and their engagement with MBIE's policy teams and Ministers.Skills and Experience Required: We are keen to hear from you if you: Have knowledge of New Zealand public sector legislative and governance frameworks Can build trusting relationships with diverse stakeholders Have experience with board appointment processes, governance, or talent acquisition Navigate ambiguity, solve problems, and think strategicallyCommunicate clearly and coherently, including for Ministers and Cabinet Understand the cabinet fees framework Respond effectively to changing priorities and manage risks Applicants must have the legal right to live and work in New Zealand.
