Wellington, New Zealand | Posted on 07/18/2024 We’re on the lookout for a full stack software engineer to join our team and help us on our mission to build the world’s most loved travel app. Since launching mid 2022, the Roady app has already facilitated over 190,000 adventures all over NZ and has become NZ’s go-to app for finding thingsto do. Off the back of this traction we recently completed a successful capital raise to assist with our expansion plans into Australia later this year.As our Full Stack software engineer, you’ll be responsible for the ongoing maintenance and development of the Roady app, customer web portal and our API. As well as identifying and resolving issues, you’ll work closely with our designer to build new features on top of our modern technology stack including Flutter for our mobile app,React Typescript for our web portal and Node.js, Typescript and PostgreSQL for our API.You'll be working alongside our awesome team of 6 and as our sole developer will have the opportunity to make a huge impact on the direction of the company. There's a great opportunity for growth in this role and as our company grows there may be an opportunity to lead a dev team in the not so distant future.Our ideal candidate is: an all rounder, a doer, has a strong commercial sense, is interested in working in a start-up, is analytical and most importantly is a team player. Key Responsibilities Maintaining the Roady mobile app, customer web supplier portal and the API Leading the scoping, development and deployment of new features in coordination with the design teamInvestigating and coordinating the resolution of issues We're a small team of 6 with half of the team working out of our central Wellington office. Our preference is to hire someone Wellington based, to work out of the office. We operate a hybrid model, in the office four days per week and work from home on Wednesdays. Our office is a great environment to work with a pool table, coffee machine and a neon sign— what more could you want?Requirements Commercial full-stack development experience. Years of work experience is negotiable but at least 1-2 years is preferable Mobile app development and deployment experience, using a framework such as Flutter or React Native Proven experience in building microservices using Node.js and Typescript. Experience with Nest.js and GraphQL is a bonusExperience in web development and use a libraries such as React Hands-on experience using any of the major database platforms; PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, being proficient in both database design and query composition Experience with AWS is a bonus Experience deploying to both the App Store and Google PlayIn depth knowledge of version control and Git, and experience using a repository such as Bitbucket in a commercial setting An armoury of modern design patterns, practices, and philosophies, seeking clean, readable, testable, and maintainable source code Experience in applying responsive design Strong problem solving skills, and adaptabilityGood communication skills and the ability to work in a team Experience with subscription-based apps is a bonus Experience analysing user behaviour, using tools such as Mixpanel is a bonus Roady is an early stage, high growth startup, so joining now puts you in the driver's seat and gives you the ability to make a great impact on the direction of the company.
