Assistant People Advisor at Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, Wellington Assistant People Advisor About the role | Mō te tūnga As the Assistant People Advisor, you will have a key role in supporting the recruitment and onboarding process, ensuring that candidates and new starters have a positive and welcoming experience. You will also provide support for people-related tasks and queries and will often be the first person our people and leaders connect with when they need help.This role sits within a small team of dedicated HR generalists and specialists who work across a wider range of people-related operational processes and programmes of work. Your role will be to manage the administrative and workflow activities to support our people life cycle, including recruitment, managing employment documentation, onboarding, induction, filing, and offboarding.Other aspects of the role include support to people programmes and projects, maintenance and improvement of people-related processes and data, and generating operational reports. This is a career pathway role, and we are looking for someone who has some relevant HR experience or professional qualification and wants to continue to grow their generalist HR skills and knowledge.This role has a salary range of $66 - $78K + 3% Kiwisaver contribution. Have a professional or tertiary qualification in Human Resources or are well into the process of gaining a qualification. Proven ability to work methodically, pay attention to detail, use initiative in solving problems and know when to seek advice and guidance.Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to quickly build great working relationships with a wide range of people. Some familiarity and understanding of relevant legislation, procedures and administrative and coordination processes as applicable to the role. An adaptable and flexible working style, and willingness to work in a dynamic environment that embraces technology and change.Proven ability to maintain discretion, professionalism and integrity at all times. High level of technological and computer nous and agility to learn and champion the use of new tools and applications. Effective organisation and planning to meet competing deadlines and maintain the quality of services delivered.A team player, sharing your knowledge with others and has a passion to learn and take on opportunities to grow.
