Reporting to the Manager of Commercial and Contracts as part of the Corporate and Digital Shared Services (CDSS) branch. As the Commercial and Contract Manager, you will be supported by a high-performing team to develop your skills further and take responsibility for contracts that have been identified for specialist management attention.You will manage ICT suppliers through the supplier life cycle from contract negotiation to contract end. Additionally, you may be involved in a range of activities including monitoring performance, costs, and contract compliance, and providing recommendations that focus on improving supplier performance, value-for-money, and/or deriving savings.Ngā pukenga me ngā wheako e hiahiatia ana - Skills and Experience Required The Commercial and Contract Manager will: Manage commercial activities assigned to them Proactively manage contract change and ensure MBIE is compliant Identify risks and issues, lead the implementation of mitigationsManage expectations with key stakeholders both internally and externally Escalate and manage disputes Drive savings through rationalization and optimization of those arrangements Why work for us? The Digital Operations Branch manages several MBIE-wide ICT functions, while the ICT Asset and Supplier Management Team maintains their commercial and contract lifecycle activities, as well as the commercial relationships with our key technology suppliers.The role will enable you to develop: Analytical skills with the ability to think strategically Experience with New Zealand’s largest ICT Suppliers An understanding of the legal frameworks in which the contract resides An understanding of how to navigate complex and ambiguous environments, processes, and governance structures to deliver to timeframesThe ability to work effectively across a large, complex organization About you We are seeking enthusiastic candidates with experience in Contract Management and knowledge of IT.
