The New Zealand Traveller Declaration (NZTD) is a digital form used to collect information from travelers arriving in Aotearoa New Zealand via air and sea. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Test Automation Engineer to join our NZTD team. Your role will involve delivering the test function, driving testing improvements, and ensuring the product meets quality standards.The successful candidate will work across multiple agencies, providing assurance that our deliverables meet functional, non-functional, security, and stability requirements. Your goal will be to help develop a fully automated testing environment that reduces risks and enhances the delivery pipeline.You will work with technologies like Azure Services (AFD, App Gateway, APIM, Cosmos DB, AKS), Rancher, Nginx, and React-based applications to deliver value to stakeholders. Your responsibilities include developing test automation frameworks, enhancing testing capabilities, and collaborating with teams and partners to ensure comprehensive testing coverage.This is a full-time, permanent role. Preference is for Wellington-based candidates, but applications from nationwide are welcome, as the role can be based in any of our locations. To succeed, you should have: Experience designing test approaches for technical implementations Strong knowledge of test automation, programming, SQL, web services, and API testingProficiency in programming, risk recognition, and test planning Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, and migrating manual tests to automated frameworks Ability to support test planning and reporting for technical and business audiences Ideally, familiarity with Agile, Product Management, ITIL, Jira, Confluence, and Selenium (not essential)We foster a supportive, inclusive environment focused on wellbeing, growth, and job satisfaction, offering training, flexible work options, health benefits, and additional leave days.
