Financial Services Complaints Ltd (FSCL) is an independent ombudsman and dispute resolution service approved by the Minister of Consumer Affairs under the Financial Service Providers (Registration and Dispute Resolution) Act 2008. We work to resolve and determine complaints between consumers and financial service providers. For more information, please visit our website at .Due to an increasing workload, we are looking for an enthusiastic team player with excellent oral, negotiation, and written skills to join our small team. You will be a good communicator, with strong analytical skills, be adaptable, have an enquiring mind and sound judgement, and be well organised.The work involves investigating and resolving disputes between consumers and financial service providers, including insurers, non-bank lenders, financial advisers, and fund managers. Your work will include identifying the complaint issues to be investigated, negotiating settlements of complaints, legal research, and writing objective, well-reasoned decisions on cases. We have the power to award compensation for direct financial loss up to $500,000.The office works cross-functionally and there is an opportunity to contribute to special projects, including policy and outreach work. This is a legal role, and a law degree is required with not less than 5 years’ PQE. Experience working in the financial services sector and/or for another disputes resolution body is highly desirable.
