Job Description Stuff Digital is seeking a Money&Personal Finance Editor to report on and shape the national conversation around personal finance across New Zealand’s most influential content platform. This role offers a unique opportunity to produce impactful, high-quality journalism that informs, empowers, and engages audiences nationwide.In this position, you'll create money and personal finance reporting that is full of personality. You’ll work across various formats including text, video, and audio, ensuring your work reaches audiences wherever they are. You should be imaginative, full of ideas, willing to push boundaries, and committed to delivering journalism that attracts readers to your stories repeatedly. Your journalism will be distinctive — playful, fun, informative, and accessible, making complex financial topics easier for all New Zealanders to understand.You will collaborate with editors, commercial, marketing, and product teams to ensure your journalism not only informs but also contributes to broader strategic goals such as audience growth, digital innovation, and reader engagement. Key Responsibilities Pitch, research, and produce original and engaging reporting on money and personal finance issues relevant to a broad New Zealand audience.Deliver high-quality journalism across platforms, including web, audio, video, and social media. Identify and follow emerging financial trends, breaking news, and consumer issues. Contribute to major editorial projects, investigations, and campaigns that drive public interest and engagement.Utilize audience insights and analytics to shape story angles and maximize reach. Collaborate with various teams within Stuff to develop content supporting editorial and membership goals. Maintain high journalistic standards, including accuracy, fairness, and legal compliance. What We’re Looking ForAn experienced or aspiring journalist with an interest in finance. Proven ability to produce personality-rich content that engages audiences. Comfortable working in a fast-paced digital newsroom and creating content in multiple formats. Excellent writing, interviewing, and research skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams. A clear understanding of audience needs and how to meet them with accessible, informative content. A commitment to public-interest journalism and high ethical standards.
