About the Role - Korero mo te Turanga The Manager Forestry Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) Compliance is responsible for the compliance activities for the Forestry ETS, a key programme in meeting New Zealand's climate change targets. You will be managing the day-to-day delivery of a risk-based approach to regulating forestry in the ETS through compliance and education. This position will ensure the integrity of the ETS for Forestry, by leading the Compliance function to monitor, investigate and resolve compliance breaches.About You - Mou You are a decisive and strategic leader with in-depth experience of working in compliance and regulatory environments. You excel in developing staff to handle complex compliance tasks and maintain clear, professional communication with stakeholders. Your collaborative approach drives continuous improvement across the directorate. One of your strengths is the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders and ensuring that you are continuously on track to meet strategic priorities and enhance compliance performance.About the Team - Mo to matou Ropu The team is geographically split, with members based in various regions across New Zealand. Collaboration is key, with the team utilizing digital tools and regular meetings to stay connected and work together effectively. They also engage in fun activities to build camaraderie and maintain a positive work environment.The mahi of this team is crucial to MPI's strategic direction, as it supports sustainable growth and development of the forestry sector, and delivers compliance with the ETS to ensure integrity in meeting climate change goals.
