KiwiRail’s Communications team provides external relations and communications leadership, advice and services to the CEO and the wider organisation. The team is responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of external relations and communications activity, and provides a range of services and support to the organisation including, but not limited to:Strategic Communications Media liaison and crisis communications Stakeholder engagement and government relations Project communications and digital content KiwiRail’s Strategic Metro Investments (SMI) team is responsible for future network development strategy and investment in our metro networks. A key element of the 2023 Rail Programme Business Case is the development of a major future rail project. This is a greenfield cross-Auckland isthmus corridor project.This fixed term role will be focused on community and stakeholder engagement related to this future development, with a split line of reporting reflecting accountability for the project whilst ensuring the role is embedded with the wider Communications team. You’ll: Be an integral part of KiwiRail’s SMI team to plan and execute communications and engagement activities related to the projectProtect communications strategies and programmes designed to enhance and preserve KiwiRail’s reputation Initiate, plan, implement and manage proactive and reactive engagement strategies Build effective partnerships with external stakeholders and foster community relationships Deliver key communications functions and services, including media relations and digital communicationsProvide support to the wider communications team/business as needed.
