Permanent full time | Wellington-based Salary $101k - $121k with KiwiSaver and wellness benefits About the Role MBIE is looking for a Senior Business Analyst with excellent data analysis and relationship building skills to work closely with the Head of Emergency Management and Business Continuity on an ambitious work programme.The Senior Business Analyst EMBC is a specialist position in MBIE. In partnership with the Head of Emergency Management and Business Continuity, you’ll be responsible for providing strategic and operational advice on EMBC data, insights, and reporting related matters across MBIE. Your ability to establish positive, consultative style working relationships with people at all levels is a key success factor for this role. You’ll facilitateanalysis and reporting on the Ministry’s incident, emergency, and business continuity management arrangements, providing credible suggestions and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.The Emergency Management and Business Continuity team is supportive, with opportunities for career progression and skill development. We offer flexible working arrangements, including options for working from home and the office. Skills and Experience Required Advanced knowledge of data analysis tools such as Power BI, Microsoft Excel, and SharePoint, with the ability to deliver actionable insights.Extensive knowledge of data analysis, reporting practices, methodologies, techniques, and principles. Knowledge or experience in emergency, incident, business continuity management, and New Zealand’s National Resilience System (desirable). Ability to improve and automate reporting processes, streamline activities, and enhance products.Strong relationship management, influencing, and problem-solving skills. Experience managing significant programmes of work. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Interpersonal skills and ability to work at all levels, including with senior management.
