If you thrive on variety and want to see the impact of your work, keep on reading.About the role As Commercial Lead, you'll be at the heart of our energy operations, optimising our marketing, trading, and asset management across both Upstream and Downstream activities. One moment you could be diving into strategic analysis, the next you're collaborating with key infrastructure providers. You'll play a key role in supporting our trading team to maximise value in the gas and electricity markets, all while ensuring we're hitting our regulatory marks. Plus, you'll be instrumental in managing our electricity retail risk and keeping a close eye on those critical energy flows.Key responsibilities: Driving strategic analysis and planning to shape our energy initiatives. Cultivate key relationships with third-party infrastructure providers. Manage hedging strategies for electricity retail risk and proactively monitoring outages Analyse market trends, monitoring financial performance, and optimising resource allocation.About you Our ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, enabling you to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders and foster strong working relationships. A strong strategic mindset is crucial, with the ability to analyse complex market situations, contribute to strategic planning, and make sound business decisions.Key competencies required for this role: Bachelor's Degree - Law, Engineering, Finance or Economics background desirable with a min of 5 years relevant experience in NZ energy markets Demonstrate a strong understanding of the business and market dynamics to effectively contribute to the organisation's strategic goals.Effectively manage the diverse needs and expectations of multiple stakeholders, both internal and external. Demonstrated experience in competitive intelligence and market analytics including lead indicators, market research, forecasting, strategy analytics etc. In depth knowledge of potential operational and commercial risks and mitigation tactics, understanding of market compliance and implications.Committed to fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment while promoting inclusivity and positivity.
