Lead Practice Specialist at Aroturuki Tamariki - Independent Children's Monitor, Wellington - Wairarapa Lead a small team of practice specialists Be part of supporting improved outcomes for tamariki and rangatahi Aroturuki Tamariki, the Independent Children's Monitor, monitors agencies working with tamariki and rangatahi known to Oranga Tamariki for either care and protection or youth justice concerns. We engage with communities, including tamariki, rangatahi and their whānau as well as agency kaimahi (staff) to understand what is working for understand barriers to achieving positive outcomes. We have a particular focus on those outcomes for tamariki Māori and disabled tamariki.In this role you will lead a team of up to three Practice Specialists with a focus on monitoring practice, including how we engage with tamariki, rangatahi and professionals in communities. The role is responsible for continuous improvement, supporting monitoring visits and developing practice tools and resources for monitors and Regional Managers. The Kaiārahi Mātanga Mahi works closely with the Manager Reports, Development and Influence and Manager Data and Insights across our overall assessment approach.Completing reports for the senior leadership team is also required. We are looking for an experienced leader with: The ability to influence through others Experience in child protection, youth justice or disability sectors An understanding of monitoring, review or assurance methodologies Strong relationship skills, open style, and a positive outlook.Knowledge of machinery of government Starting salaries are negotiated based on relevant skills and experience and we expect to offer a starting salary of between $136,420 and $151,577 for this role.
