Job Description Engagement Adviser Role type : Permanent, full-time Location : Wellington City Salary band&range: General Salary Range F: $74,964 to $87,466 depending on skills and experience About the Role - Kōrero mō te Tūranga As New Zealand Food Safety's Engagement Adviser, you will support events, engagement and communication programmes across a range of food safety issues&priorities. This is a hands-on position and includes activities such as arranging stakeholder visits/itineraries and other stakeholder group interactions; supporting events and sponsorships; developing engagement and communications content for stakeholders; and developing clear systems and processes to improve New Zealand Food Safety's stakeholder engagement programmes.To enable you to deliver the above outcomes, it is essential to build collaborative relationships across New Zealand Food Safety, MPI, other New Zealand Government agencies, service providers, and other interested parties. More specifically, your key responsibilities will include: Contributing to the delivery of partner and stakeholder engagement plans and the successful delivery of engagement outcomes.Writing and preparing quality work and other collateral appropriate for a range of audiences, and turning complex&technical information into plain English for traditional and digital channels. Delivering within deadlines and adapting quickly to change and changing/tight timeframes. About You - Mōu Our next Engagement Adviser will have at least a year of experience implementing communication and engagement strategies, or organising events.You thrive on collaborating directly with food businesses and adjacent directorates to drive for results across the organisation. You are highly organised, and can manage a variety of tasks, which contribute to developing New Zealand Food Safety's values. You will have a strong background in written communication and the ability tailor messages to different audiences, both internally, such as New Zealand Food Safety's senior leadership team, and externally, such as operators and organisations within the“farm to fork” cohort.Experience with Government processes and a passion for the food safety system is highly advantageous. In addition, our ideal candidate will have/display the ability to: Stay calm under pressure in an environment where the goalposts shift regularly. Bring groups/people together in productive discussions.Establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide variety of people. Measure results against engagement and communications objectives. Set priorities and manage time effectively. Translate complex or technical information in an accessible, factual and easy-to-understand way. Write and edit communications material for digital and traditional channels.Balance the needs and perspectives of different audiences. You do not need to meet all of the role requirements to apply. About the Team - Mō tō mātou RōpūReporting to the Manager Stakeholder Engagement, you will contribute to the Regulatory Support&Performance directorate and play a key role in role in designing and delivering effective and balanced engagement and communications.
