Join Our Team We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Senior Health and Safety Advisor to join our Wellington Transport Alliance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in H&S advisory roles, providing leadership, expert guidance, and strategic advice to uphold best practices, ensure legislative compliance, and manage risks effectively. Due to the nature of our work, occasional night shifts will be required. Key Responsibilities Identifying risks and improving safety processesConducting inspections, including subcontractor verification Identifying training needs and supporting training delivery Enhancing safety culture through critical risk assessments and safety conversations Completing investigations and sharing trends and learnings across the Alliance Benefits Time and a half after 8 hours per dayKiwiSaver employer contributions Fuel discount card Parental leave top-up and return-to-work support Family scholarships Ongoing training, career growth, and development opportunities Retail discounts Medical and life insurance Candidate Requirements Relevant health and safety qualificationClean Class 1 driver’s license At least 5 years of experience as a Health&Safety Advisor Practical knowledge of New Zealand health and safety legislation Experience with health and safety auditing Ability to build trust-based relationships Experience coaching at management/leadership level Strong workload management skills Team player with excellent communication skillsAbility to adapt in a fast-paced environment Computer literacy About Wellington Transport Alliance The Wellington Transport Alliance is a partnership between the New Zealand Transport Agency, Fulton Hogan, and WSP, responsible for maintaining and operating state highways and roads across Greater Wellington.
