Mō te tīma | About the Team The Communications Team sits within the Parliamentary Engagement team, which is part of the Corporate Services group. The team, comprising staff from both the Office of the Clerk and Parliamentary Service, is responsible for leading Parliament’s communications strategy. With a strong focus on public engagement, education, Māori tikanga and language, and international relations, the Communications Team plays a key role in making Parliament more accessible and encouraging greater public participation each year.Mō te tūnga |About the Role As a Communications Advisor, you’ll play a key role in supporting communications activities across the Parliamentary Service. Responsibilities include: Developing communications plans for various projects Filming weekly videos and producing multimedia content Managing the communications inbox on a weekly rosterDrafting talking points, writing press releases, and supporting media responses No two days will be the same in this hands-on, dynamic role. You’ll be part of a team that creates clear, engaging communications for both internal and external audiences. Tō kete | What You’ll Bring Strong writing skills and the ability to turn complex information into accessible contentExcellent organisational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks A collaborative approach and a passion for public sector communications An understanding of bicultural practice and diverse audiences Video production skills (filming and editing) and experience with DSLR photography is an added bonus but not essential.What’s in it for You?
