Join us to use data and analytics to drive Māori Development across government Bring your sound technical background to lead data-side elements of the Ministry's data and analytics platform Full Time, Permanent opportunity based in National office, Wellington Te Puni Kōkiri is the government's principal policy advisor on Māori wellbeingand development. We achieve strategic influence with a focus on providing high quality policy advice and holding other agencies to account for delivering public services to, for, and with Māori. This includes our mandate to promote Māori achievement in education, training, health and economic resource development along with performing our monitoring and mentoring roles.The Data&Insights team within the Monitoring and Evaluation Directorate has overall responsibility for the monitoring programme at Te Puni Kōkiri in its legislated role to monitor and liaise with public service agencies to ensure the adequacy of services provided to Māori. The team works collaboratively across Te Puni Kōkiri and with external agencies to provide evidence-informed insights, which influence system level change.Reporting to Manager Data and Insights, this role works closely with the Lead Data Engineer, Principals and Team Leader, to ensure the team delivers on a range of data and evidence analysis, products and strategies As a Principal Data Analyst you will take a lead role building our evidence base of quality data and unlocking our analytical capabilityYou will have a mandate look across the public service and focus on improvements and quality results You will uplift the use and application of data and evidence in decision making across the Ministry. The likely appointment range is $123,009 (90%) - $136,676 (100%). The full salary range for the role is $123,009- $164,012 (120%)Ko wai koe | About you To be successful in this role, you will have proven experience in using qualitative and quantitative data to inform evidence-based decision making. You will also be capable of providing work programme direction. You'll have: Good working knowledge in a range of analytical environments, experience in getting to the heart of customer's needs and delivering through data visualisation and writing techniques.Expertise using core datasets and standards to deliver high quality analytical outputs Confidence in leading data strategy development and capability building across an organisation , Comfortable in stakeholder engagement and communication effectively to senior leaders and building strong relationships across the government data system to ensure our strengthened approach to data and analysis is fit for purpose.Able to contribute to building on our existing data platform from prioritising data ingestion to delivering for customers Able to mentor junior kaimahi, Experience working in hybrid agile environments is a plus.
