As a Biodiversity Ranger, you will be working closely with the Biodiversity Supervisor to lead the delivery of pest animal and plant work within theEastern Bay of Plenty region.The position will be focussed on: Leading pest animal and plant management efforts district-wide, including aerial pesticide operations, pest fish control, trapping, and weed management. Assisting in programs aimed at protecting threatened species. Supporting the Biodiversity Senior Ranger in planning conservation projects.Coaching, supporting, and overseeing Rangers, community groups, and volunteers engaged in conservation activities. If you have the following attributes, we are keen to hear from you: Tertiary qualification in natural heritage, science, or conservation management. Proven expertise in planning, delivering, and reporting on operational projects.Demonstrated experience in practical management of pest animals and plants. Proven ability to collaborate, communicate and build relationships effectively with Iwi, community groups, and landowners. A proactive work style focused on driving and maintaining progress. Willingness to innovate and enhance existing work programs.Demonstrated ability to work with experts to understand and apply technical advice. Capable of working independently or as part of a team. Proficiency in using Microsoft programs for data capture and report writing, with skills in interpreting GIS information and creating maps. Full New Zealand Driver's LicenceCurrent First Aid Certificate. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Tikanga Māori and Te Ao Māori.
