About the Role We are looking for physicians to provide acute medical services within Northland; these are a combination of new and replacement roles.Existing specialties include:• General and Acute medicine • Gastroenterology including a visiting hepatologist • Infectious Disease • Endocrinology and diabetes • Healthcare of the elderly • Maternal Medicine • Oncology and Haematology • Renal medicine We have several new facilities including a new Laboratory, endoscopy and cardiac catheter suite with the agreed funding for a new hospital which is currently in the planning stage.The role will be focused on acute medicine which will include Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC), hot clinics and short stay wards, Emergency Department and managing inpatients. The on-call roster means working some weekends per year with a rostered day off after weekend work.
